The autumn of 2026 has ushered in a wave of creativity across the Turkish music landscape. From unexpected cross-genre collaborations and self-produced pop anthems to deeply personal rock releases and major indie label milestones, the industry is witnessing a dynamic convergence of seasoned legends and rising independent talent. As streaming platforms and physical media formats continue to evolve, Turkish artists are increasingly pushing creative boundaries, blending traditional pop sensibilities with alternative rock, acoustic warmth, and modern electronic production.
At the forefront of this musical renaissance is an unexpected partnership bridging the gap between mainstream pop royalty and the rising stars of the alternative scene, alongside a series of compelling solo projects and a major anniversary celebration for one of Istanbul’s most beloved independent record labels.
Yeşim Salkım and Maderzat Break the Mold with "Yalan"
In a move that has captivated music lovers across Turkey, Maderzat—one of the most talked-about new bands on the alternative scene—has teamed up with Yeşim Salkım, a powerful and iconic figure who has left an indelible mark on the history of Turkish pop music. Known for their rapid rise and distinctive musical identity, Maderzat’s collaboration with Salkım represents a fascinating intersection of two very different musical worlds.

The seeds of the project were planted when the artists met in the recording studio, subsequently sharing photos of their session on social media. The surprise posts quickly sparked intense curiosity among fans and industry insiders alike, who wondered how the band’s alternative edge would meld with Salkım’s signature vocal power.
The highly anticipated result of this collaboration, a single titled "Yalan" (The Lie), officially met listeners on October 1. The track boasts an impressive creative pedigree, featuring lyrics written by Mehmet Tahir Peker and a composition by the legendary Burhan Bayar. Adding a unique layer of depth to the track, a spoken-word poetry segment within "Yalan" was penned by Serdar Aksoy.
Behind the scenes, the track’s sonic landscape was meticulously crafted. The arrangement was handled by Sezgin Gezgin, while the critical mix and mastering stages were completed by Candar Köker. To accompany the release, a visually striking teaser video was produced to generate early momentum. Director Emre Abi, who helmed the initial teaser that garnered widespread acclaim immediately upon its release, also took on the directorial duties for the song’s official music video, translating the dramatic weight of "Yalan" into a compelling visual narrative.

Tarık İster Steps into the Spotlight with "Vakti Doldu"
As the lines between music production and performance continue to blur, successful producer and artist Tarık İster has returned with a powerful new single titled "Vakti Doldu" (Time is Up). The track represents a sophisticated blend of modern Turkish pop production and a highly infectious, memorable melodic structure.
For "Vakti Doldu," İster collaborated with songwriter Ateş Atilla, who wrote and composed the track. Atilla has recently drawn significant attention within the industry for his lyricism, particularly through his work on the widely discussed "Manifest" series of songs.
Thematically, "Vakti Doldu" moves away from the traditional, lingering despair often associated with Turkish break-up ballads. Instead, the song explores the mature and empowering concept of closure—acknowledging that a relationship has run its course, accepting the end of a chapter, and finding the strength to move forward.

While Tarık İster is widely recognized for his high-profile production work with some of the biggest names in Turkish pop, "Vakti Doldu" sees him seamlessly uniting his technical prowess as a producer with his own vocal performance. The track stands out in the current pop landscape due to its contemporary sound design, robust melodic architecture, and an easily memorable chorus that is poised to dominate radio waves and streaming playlists alike.
CEFİ Delivers Intimate Romance in "Seni Sevmek Demek"
Adding to the season’s romantic offerings, the artist CEFİ has officially released his latest single, "Seni Sevmek Demek" (What Loving You Means). Characterized by its warm, sincere approach to the themes of love and devotion, the song has quickly resonated with listeners seeking emotional depth and organic instrumentation.
The song’s lyrical and musical foundation was laid by Samet Kurt, who wrote and composed the piece, while the arrangement was executed by Osman Kaya. Unlike heavily synthesized modern pop tracks, "Seni Sevmek Demek" relies on a rich, acoustic-leaning instrumental framework. The track features expressive guitar work by Yalçın Yakın, anchored by the bass guitar performance of Mert Keçeli. Keçeli also pulled double duty on the project, taking charge of the mix and mastering process to ensure a polished yet intimate audio experience.

CEFİ’s unique vocal delivery brings a distinct vulnerability to the track. To complement the song’s emotional core, a dedicated music video directed by Erkan Nas was released simultaneously, offering fans a visual representation of the song’s romantic and reflective atmosphere.
Ahsen Özdemir Showcases Her Creative Identity on "Bu İşler"
With a fierce commitment to creative independence and a highly disciplined approach to songwriting, Ahsen Özdemir has returned to the airwaves with her new single, "Bu İşler" (These Things).
Throughout her musical journey, Özdemir has consistently paved her own path, writing and composing her own material. This self-reliant approach allows her to treat each new release as a blank canvas, exploring distinct emotions, narratives, and musical palettes without being confined by the boundaries of a single genre. Rather than conforming to mainstream expectations, she focuses on translating the melodies and lyrics that shape her inner world into a distinct vocal performance.

This dedication to artistic authenticity has not gone unnoticed by major streaming platforms. Following its release, "Bu İşler" was quickly added to several of Spotify’s highly influential editorial playlists. The track secured coveted spots on "New Music Friday Türkiye," a playlist dedicated to helping listeners discover the most promising new releases of the week, as well as "EQUAL Türkiye." The latter is part of Spotify’s global initiative aimed at fostering gender equity in the music industry by amplifying the voices of talented female creators and increasing their visibility on a local and international scale.
Esra Zaim Channels 15 Years of Stage Experience into "Kendimi Buldum"
For artists transitioning from live performance to the recording studio, translating years of stage energy into a single track can be a challenge. However, singer-songwriter Esra Zaim has done just that with her latest single, "Kendimi Buldum" (I Found Myself), which officially launched on September 18.
Bringing a wealth of experience from 15 years of active stage performances, Zaim has channeled her seasoned vocal prowess into her own original compositions. Moving firmly within the realms of rock and pop-rock, "Kendimi Buldum" features words and music written entirely by Zaim herself. The song serves as a direct, honest narrative of self-exploration, personal transformation, and the empowering journey of finally discovering one’s true creative voice. Zaim’s powerful, assertive vocals find a perfect match in the track’s energetic, guitar-driven rock production.

The track’s high-energy sonic identity was shaped in collaboration with producer and multi-instrumentalist Övünç Dan, who handled the arrangement, mixing, and mastering. Dan is a highly respected figure in the Turkish alternative rock scene, recognized for his work with prominent bands such as Kaçak and Gaddar, as well as his acclaimed solo electronic-goth project, Kana Kana. His involvement brings a gritty, authentic edge to the track, perfectly complementing Zaim’s raw lyricism.
Rainbow45 Records Celebrates 15 Years of Indie Heritage with "Siyaha Giderken"
While individual artists continue to enrich the digital space, one of Istanbul’s most respected independent institutions is preparing to celebrate a major milestone in physical media. Rainbow45 Records, a cornerstone of the independent music scene, is marking its 15th anniversary with the release of a special compilation album titled "Siyaha Giderken" (Heading to Black).
The story of Rainbow45 Records began a decade and a half ago as a modest, passionate independent record shop founded by Salih Karagöz in the culturally rich district of Kadıköy, Istanbul. Over the years, the shop transformed from a local haven for vinyl collectors into an active independent record label, publishing house, and production company. Throughout its fifteen-year journey, the label has remained dedicated to supporting independent musicians and preserving the culture of physical music formats.

To celebrate this journey, the label has curated "Siyaha Giderken," a compilation album that acts as a bridge between different generations of independent Turkish musicians. Offering approximately 41 minutes of diverse, carefully selected music, the album serves as both a retrospective of the label’s ethos and a showcase of contemporary independent talent.
For audiophiles and collectors, the album is scheduled to be officially released during the first week of November. True to the label’s roots in physical music preservation, "Siyaha Giderken" will be made available in both vinyl and CD formats, offering a tactile and high-fidelity listening experience that honors 15 years of independent musical heritage.
