The Student Selection and Placement Center (ÖSYM) of Türkiye is set to administer two major national examinations over the weekend of October 17–18, 2026. According to an official announcement released by the exam administration on Friday, October 16, thousands of candidates across the country will sit for assessments designed to measure foreign language proficiency as well as professional qualifications in agricultural and chemical trade management.
The upcoming examination timetable commences on Saturday, October 17, with the Electronic Foreign Language Exam (e-YDS 2026/11) in English and Persian. This will be followed on Sunday, October 18, by the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry Plant Protection Products Dealer and Wholesaler Written Exam (2026-BKUBTS). Combined, the two centralized assessments will involve nearly 15,000 candidates and more than 1,600 exam personnel, utilizing ÖSYM’s electronic testing centers and standard examination halls across multiple provinces.
The e-YDS 2026/11 session represents the eleventh electronic language exam scheduled by ÖSYM this year. Designed to evaluate advanced language competency for academic, professional, and public sector credentials, this specific session covers two key languages: English and Persian.
To accommodate the candidates taking the computer-based assessment, ÖSYM will utilize its high-tech electronic examination centers situated in four major urban hubs across Türkiye: Adana, Ankara, Istanbul, and Izmir. Within these purpose-built centers, a total of 47 electronic testing halls have been allocated and fully configured to host the computer-based evaluation.
According to the official schedule, the e-YDS examination will begin precisely at 13:45 local time on Saturday. In line with ÖSYM’s strict standardized examination protocols, a strict arrival window will be maintained: candidates will not be admitted to the examination buildings after 13:30. Test-takers are advised to plan their arrival well in advance to complete identity checks and security screenings prior to the hall entry cutoff.

During the exam, candidates will complete a multiple-choice test consisting of 80 questions designed to measure language mechanics, comprehension, translation skills, and vocabulary. Test-takers will be granted an answering duration of 180 minutes (3 hours), bringing the standard testing session to a close at 16:45. Candidates who have been granted special accommodations due to documented physical or health requirements will be able to utilize an additional 30 minutes of extra time.
A primary advantage of the electronic e-YDS format is the rapidity of its evaluation process. ÖSYM confirmed that the exam results for both the English and Persian sections of e-YDS 2026/11 will be finalized and officially announced on the very same day the exam takes place, providing candidates with immediate access to their scores.
BKUBTS to Be Conducted Across Eight Provinces
Following Saturday’s electronic language test, ÖSYM will shift its administrative focus on Sunday, October 18, to the 2026 Plant Protection Products Dealer and Wholesaler Written Exam (2026-BKUBTS). Conducted on behalf of the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, this professional qualification exam serves as an essential regulatory mechanism to ensure that individuals selling, distributing, or wholesaling agricultural chemicals and plant protection treatments hold verified technical and legal qualifications.
Unlike the computer-based e-YDS session, the BKUBTS written examination will be held across a broader geographic footprint. The exam will take place in nine specialized examination centers spread across eight designated provinces. To comfortably seat the applicant pool, ÖSYM has arranged 29 examination buildings containing 312 individual testing halls.
The Sunday morning examination will start at 10:15 local time. As with the Saturday session, ÖSYM’s standard 15-minute pre-exam entry rule will be strictly enforced, meaning candidates arriving after 10:00 will not be permitted into the exam venues under any circumstances.
The BKUBTS test paper consists of 50 multiple-choice questions focused on plant health, chemical handling rules, safety protocols, and relevant statutory regulations. Candidates will have 75 minutes to complete the exam, with the regular session concluding at 11:30. Candidates who qualify for extended time accommodations will receive an additional 20 minutes to finish their papers.

Eligibility for the BKUBTS assessment is established by professional and educational qualifications defined by national agricultural regulations. To participate in the exam, applicants must be citizens of the Republic of Türkiye and hold degrees in specific professional disciplines. Eligible candidates include individuals who have graduated as agricultural engineers, pharmacists, chemical engineers, chemists, forest engineers, or forest industry engineers. Additionally, technicians or agricultural technicians who have taken formally accredited coursework focusing specifically on plant health during their studies are qualified to sit for the test.
Unlike the computer-evaluated electronic language exam, answer documents for the paper-based BKUBTS session will undergo optical scanning and verification procedures at ÖSYM’s processing centers. Results for the 2026-BKUBTS will be officially released on November 11, 2026.
To assist candidates who may encounter last-minute document issues, provincial and district population registry offices (Nüfus Müdürlükleri) in the exam cities will remain open during the examination period. This service allows candidates who have lost their identity cards, lack official IDs, or carry older identity cards missing a national ID number or recent photograph to obtain temporary official identity documentation on exam day. Candidates must download and print their official exam entry documents (Sınava Giriş Belgesi) beforehand via ÖSYM’s candidate transactions system accessible at ais.osym.gov.tr.
Total Candidate Participation and Operational Measures
Providing an overview of the weekend’s logistical requirements, ÖSYM President Prof. Dr. Bayram Ali Ersoy detailed the candidate statistics, operational personnel, and candidate support provisions put in place for both examinations.
Prof. Dr. Ersoy highlighted that ÖSYM regularly conducts tailored weekend assessments across diverse fields to measure professional qualifications and academic competencies in a transparent and standardized framework.
According to the data released by ÖSYM, a total of 14,972 candidates are registered to take part in the weekend exam cycle. For Saturday’s e-YDS 2026/11 session, 5,229 candidates registered in total, with 4,825 taking the English exam and 404 sitting for the Persian language exam. Meanwhile, Sunday’s BKUBTS session saw 9,743 applicants register for professional licensing in plant protection products.

The examination arrangements also incorporate measures for candidates with special needs and those eligible for regulatory fee exemptions. Across the two examinations, 53 candidates with disabilities will be accommodated with tailored testing arrangements and extended time options. Furthermore, under social coverage guidelines established for standardized tests, 123 candidates—including military veterans as well as the spouses and children of martyrs and veterans—benefited from fee waivers across both sessions.
To ensure security, logistics, and smooth operations across all examination venues, ÖSYM has deployed a total of 1,615 personnel. This workforce includes exam hall invigilators, building coordinators, administrative staff, and law enforcement officers tasked with maintaining venue security.
Concluding his statement, ÖSYM President Prof. Dr. Bayram Ali Ersoy wished success to all candidates seeking academic and professional advancement over the weekend, while offering encouragement to the administrative and security staff deployed across the country to conduct the examinations.
