In an era where mobile working habits and digital productivity demands are undergoing a rapid transformation, global technology giant Huawei has officially launched its highly anticipated next-generation tablet, the HUAWEI MatePad Air, in the Turkish market. Designed as the direct successor to the popular MatePad 12X series, this brand-new tablet is engineered to cater to professionals, students, and creative minds who refuse to compromise on either performance or portability.
With an incredibly slim profile measuring just 5.3 mm in thickness and weighing a mere 509 grams, the MatePad Air sets a new benchmark for ultra-portable productivity. Despite its featherlight chassis, the tablet does not cut corners on hardware. It comes equipped with a cutting-edge 144 Hz PaperMatte OLED display, advanced artificial intelligence tools for office tasks, and a robust battery system. To celebrate the release, Huawei Turkey has also introduced a massive launch promotion, offering complimentary premium accessories valued at nearly 19,000 TL to early buyers.
A New Era of Display Technology: The PaperMatte OLED Experience
The role of tablets in daily life has shifted dramatically over the past few years. No longer viewed as mere screens for casual media consumption, social media browsing, or light entertainment, modern tablets have become essential tools for intensive document editing, professional note-taking, sketching, and digital illustration. This evolution has naturally heightened consumer expectations regarding display quality, responsiveness, and eye comfort during extended use.
Huawei addresses these shifting demands with the introduction of its flagship-grade display technology on the MatePad Air. The tablet features a gorgeous 12-inch OLED Ultra-Clear PaperMatte screen that delivers a stunning 2.8K resolution. Designed to keep transitions fluid and animations incredibly smooth, the panel supports a high 144 Hz refresh rate, which is particularly beneficial when scrolling through dense documents, editing videos, or drawing. Furthermore, with a peak brightness of 1,200 nits, the display remains perfectly legible even under direct sunlight or harsh indoor office lighting.
The defining feature of this edition is the proprietary PaperMatte surface treatment. This specialized coating is engineered to scatter environmental light, significantly reducing reflections and glare that typically cause eye fatigue during long hours of work. Beyond its optical benefits, the PaperMatte screen offers a unique tactile experience. When paired with Huawei’s M-Pencil Pro, the textured surface provides a subtle physical resistance that closely mimics the natural sensation of writing or drawing with a physical pen on high-quality paper.
For users who prefer a more traditional screen experience, Huawei also offers a standard version of the MatePad Air, which features a premium flexible OLED display. This dual-track approach ensures that whether a user prioritizes the tactile, glare-free qualities of the PaperMatte screen or the classic, vibrant look of standard OLED panels, their preferences are fully accommodated.
WPS AI and Hardware Synergy: A Portable Office Powerhouse
To truly serve as a laptop replacement, a modern tablet must offer a seamless integration of high-performance hardware and smart software. The HUAWEI MatePad Air achieves this balance by incorporating advanced artificial intelligence directly into the user’s daily workflow. At the heart of its productivity suite is the WPS AI integration, a feature designed to streamline office-related tasks and save valuable time for professionals on the move.
With the assistance of WPS AI, users can perform complex tasks with simple commands. The AI tool is capable of:
- Generating coherent, professionally styled text drafts from basic prompts.
- Analyzing and summarizing lengthy PDF documents to highlight key takeaways.
- Instantly converting raw data tables into clean, easy-to-read charts and graphs.
- Assembling polished presentations rapidly, reducing the time spent on formatting and slide design.
For the creative community, the tablet comes preloaded with Huawei’s professional-grade GoPaint application. When combined with the low-latency, pressure-sensitive M-Pencil Pro, GoPaint transforms the MatePad Air into a digital canvas, allowing artists to paint, sketch, and design with precision.
Powering all these advanced AI features, high-resolution drawing applications, and multitasking demands is a massive 10,100 mAh battery. Despite the tablet’s ultra-thin 5.3 mm body, Huawei’s engineers managed to fit a high-capacity power cell that guarantees long-lasting performance. The device supports up to 10 hours of continuous, uninterrupted video playback on a single charge, making it a reliable companion for long flights, full workdays, or back-to-back university lectures.
When the battery does eventually run low, the tablet utilizes Huawei’s proprietary 66 W SuperCharge Turbo technology. This high-speed charging standard allows users to top up the battery from empty to 42 percent in just 30 minutes, minimizing downtime and keeping users connected when they need it most.
